NHS CARE AT ITS BEST I am really impressed with the care and attention I received while at this hospital for four days. From the Paramedics to the casualty team, the scanning department and Meldon Ward and it's team. Very friendly and efficient. Well done and Thankyou all. Kind regards Dennis Jarmey

I was treated with kindness and respect for all my visits to the breast clinic and particularly the Day Care Centre. The staff were helpful and informative and very sympathetic. My husband who accompanied me on these visits was also treated well and included when possible. I was seen promptly and all treatments etc were discussed. The follow up information and literature was very comprehensive and extremely helpful.

Rude uncompassionate staff with no patience and no respect. Undoubtedly the worst.

Review of GWH Delivery written by a patient
21st October 2018

On Wednesday the 17th of October I went in for my elective c section and was cared for the whole day by a midwife named Rachel who I absolutely loved she was so busy and rushed off her feet but managed to always make the time to check in on me and my partner and put my mind and my partners mind at ease during the c section! A truly fabulous lady! There were numerous emergencies and rushing about for her and she didn’t stop! The team in the theatre were also amazing Ben and Matt were wonderfully funny and again made a very anxious patient feel at ease I cannot thank the delivery team enough for how they handle me and the birth of baby Edith thank you very much xx

Review of Day Assessment Unit written by a family member
17th September 2018

Laura looked after my wife this afternoon and evening, when we came up due to high no and pulse rate, and couldn’t have done a better job. She made us all feel at ease and was kind and caring. She was very thorough and checked everything, explaining every step of the way. My wife (a nurse at the hospital) said it was the best anyone had taken her blood in as long as she can remember. People usually struggle. We would love this feedback to be passed on as our experience left us feeling reassured and far less stressed.

After consultation and treatment by Nicola Petrie of Cotswold Plastic Surgery Ltd at Great Western Hospital Swindon I could not have wished for better treatment and care in all aspects of the process. Top marks to the medical team and all involved. Thank you Mary Dyer

seen one and a half hours after appointment time. Dr uncaring, abrupt and downright rude. Brushed off questions as if it didn't concern patient. Still trying to obtain follow up letter to GP and copy to my husband two and a half weeks later. Told by admin staff letter sent electronically the day I phoned, total lies as week later GP still not received letter. Felt my husband didn't matter just a number. My overall view of your hospital, a cattle market. Get them in get them out just to tick the box.

Review of Emergency Department - A & E written by a family member
5th June 2018

A family member was brought into ED for attempted suicide and was treated with the greatest respect and compassion, even when he was abusive towards staff. The staff spoke to him kindly and didn't push any clinical intervention but respected his decisions. They facilitated a quick assessment by the mental health team and were able to accommodate us in a cubicle to reduce his anxiety. The staff were all attentive and could not be faulted in the way that they treated him. As an ED nurse myself I know the time pressures that staff are under but they never made my family members feel that they were in the way or anything was too much trouble. Thank you for making a traumatic time more bearable.
